Section 504 Annual Notification

As required by the Office of Civil Rights, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 ("Section 504"), Marquette Area Public Schools must notify staff of the OCR-approved Section 504 policies and procedures, publish them on the District’s website, and notify parents, students, and staff how to obtain hard copies. 

The District has an updated Section 504 policy, which was approved by the Board of Education on March 23, following initial approval by the Office of Civil Rights.  The policy is available on the school district website (www.mapsnet.org) under Parent Resources.  You can view or print the policy and procedure manual from there.

Marquette Area Public Schools has a District Section 504 Coordinator whose responsibility it is to oversee implementation and ensure compliance on Section 504 records, forms, and procedures; plan and present staff training as needed; consult with district personnel and parents on Section 504.
